Hello everyone, welcome to episode of Islam Ecology Difficult Podcast. Today's topic is very useful and informative for every one of you, and the topic is detox myths. Let's get into the topic without any delay. Detox is so much in, it's so much trendy. It's everywhere. Detox teas, detox juices, detox powders, detox diet plants, etc. etc. You ever wonder what does detox mean? Well, talking in the terms of medical sciences, detoxification refers to special, rather I should say, specific biological processes where organs like liver, kidneys, lungs, gut, that is gastrointestinal tract, they all process and eliminate substances, especially the toxins or unwanted substances, out from the body. Our body has good enough, decent, rather sophisticated, I should say. Detoxification system or processes working daily every time in our body. What do you derive from this knowledge pipe? No, no, no, no, no. I never meant healthy eating, it's all in vain, it's not a waste, it's not useless. You absolutely and 100% need healthy, nutritious food, hydration, good sleep, exercise for the supportive and proper well-being of your body and health. But I'm 100% sure too, you have fallen in the trap of detox commercial products with many times exaggerated, false and non-scientific claims. Haven't you? All these products often cause dehydration, electrolyte disturbances, not require laxative treatment, they produce false expectations. Do you really feel you can create a healthy ecosystem and lifestyle with these dramatic short-term cleanses or fake traps? Don't treat your health and body like a filthy machine, which requires weekly purification. The wellness marketing in your city or locality is not selling signs, rather, a bundle and burden of guilt. Health is built with long-term practices and consistent good habits. As being a pharmacology teacher and we all are learners of pharmacology, we learn to ask what is the mechanism, what is the evidence, and what are the risks? I mean to say side effects. Such a thought, brainstorming or critical thinking is also a health practice. Please do it, don't avoid it. It's so much needed in today's era, it's a need of a time.
