Hello everyone, welcome back to my podcast. Welcome to this Pharmacology Difficult Podcast. And today we are gonna talk about a very interesting and very useful topic. And the topic is uh the usefulness and the importance of electrolytes in case of such a scrotching heat, and also when you are traveling, you need electrolytes. So if you are traveling, if you are walking a lot, if you're sweating in the heat and the scratching sun, you're feeling exhausted during the summer. Today's episode is exactly what you need to know about. So, we are gonna talk about electrolytes. Electrolytes are minerals in the body that carry electrical charges. The major ones are sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and chloride. These are the tiny ions and they do massive jobs in the body. They help to control the nerve signals, the muscle contractions, the hydration, the heart rhythm, the blood pressure, all this work they are helping controlling and monitoring. So, when you are traveling, if you think about travel, you walk more, you sweat more, you get exhausted very easily, you sometimes eat irregularly, and many people forget to drink water from time to time, frequently, and they are dehydrated. Sweating also removes a lot of water from the body. It also removes along with the water, the electrolytes are also removed from the body. So, severe dehydration, it can cause muscle cramps, it can exhaust you, it can cause a lot of fatigue, dizziness, weakness, and headache. These are the important things. Sign and symptoms you can see when you are dehydrated very badly, and sometimes in the heat exhaustion is so much that you're totally confused. So, more water is not always better. That is a misconception, it's a big myth. Excessive plain water without electrolytes can sometimes dilute the sodium levels in your body. That is also a big important point you need to take into consideration. So, everything should be well balanced, the balance matters. So, what do we what we can use to balance the electrolytes and the water? We can use coconut water, we can use ORS, we can use uh proper meals, electrolyte containing fluids, they help in the heavy sweating, and they also prevent the illness in the body. So, not every sport drink or every energy drink is automatically healthy. Please, this is also a myth and misconception you need to take care of. Some of them contain a lot of sugar, and these sugary fluids and liquids they are more very very harmful to your body rather than providing electrolytes, they are getting doing more harm to the body. So, balance is very, very important, especially when you're a student of pharmacology and physiology. You need to understand this balance word very importantly. Too much electrolytes is bad, too little electrolytes is also bad, too much water can be harmful. Everything should be well balanced. So, when you're traveling, you're constantly reminded of one wonderful thing: how beautifully the body works quietly in the background. Constantly, the body is balancing fluids when you're traveling, when you're not taking proper care of yourself, the body is balancing the salts, also, the pressure and the energy. So, when you're traveling, don't forget to drink the water, respect the heat, take care of the internal chemistry of your body, and always stay reminded to hydrate yourself well, to manage your electrolytes with the help of coconut water, ORS, or electric-containing fluids, which are good and healthy for your body. And that's all. I'm also on travel. I take care of all these things. If you like the episode, if you found it useful, don't forget to like and subscribe. Till the next time, until we talk about more interesting and useful topics. Thank you. Take care, bye.
